Psychovocational/ Integrated Career Asessment

Benefits

People differ in many ways, and work or learn best in ways that reflect those differences. For example, some people work best with data, others with people, and others with physical objects; some work best using words, and others with visual images; some work best with structure and organization, and others with innovation and creativity.
To choose an optimal career path, it is important to be aware of one’s unique pattern of abilities, interests, and aptitudes, as well as personality traits such as interpersonal and work styles, and leadership ability.

An integrated career assessment helps individuals discover their strengths, as well as possible obstacles to employment or education.
It can help people identify careers and educational programs in which they may be most successful, and develop specific strategies to meet their vocational goals.

What is involved?

A full integrated career assessment usually takes one-and-one-half days.

The assessment consists of an interview, and the administration of standardized tests of cognitive abilities, achievement levels, vocational aptitudes and interests, and personality.
A detailed report is provided, which reviews the client’s strengths and challenges, and includes clear recommendations for potential occupations, further education and personal development, and optimal environments for learning or work.

Clients meet with the assessor after test results are analyzed to discuss the findings and recommendations. Information obtained in the assessment is kept confidential.

Our approach

Abilities, interests, and personality all work together in a seamless way to make up who we are, and contribute to what we can be.

We therefore look at a person as a whole, and focus on integrating the information obtained in assessment in a way that provides useful and meaningful recommendations for the real world.

Our assessments are conducted by Registered Psychologists, who have the qualifications, training and experience to select measures appropriately, and to interpret results in the context of an individual’s life.

Services by Registered Psychologists may be reimbursable by extended medical plans.
