Dr. James Blackburn
James R. Blackburn, PhD, RPsych #01514. Dr. Blackburn completed a BSc in psychology at McGill University, and MA and PhD degrees in psychology at the University of British Columbia. After a post-doctoral fellowship at the National Institute of Mental Health in Washington, DC, he was an Assistant Professor of Psychology at McMaster University. He then completed an APA/CPA-accredited postdoctoral clinical specialization at Dalhousie University and an internship in neuropsychology at the Ottawa Hospital. He joined WCPS in 2000, and he has since conducted neuropsychological, psychovocational, and learning disabilities assessments on persons with a wide variety of disabilities.
Dr. Dawn Brandlmayr
Dawn Brandlmayr, PhD, RPsych #01982. (Currently on LOA) Dr. Brandlmayr completed her BA in psychology at the University of British Columbia, and her MA and PhD in adult clinical psychology in a CPA-accredited program at York University. Her pre-doctoral internship was completed at Fraser Health’s Burnaby Mental Health Offices and at West Coast Psychological Services (WCPS). She has been a member of the WCPS team since 2004, performing psychovocational, psychoeducational, and developmental disability / CLBC assessments; and supervising the psychometry team. Additional areas of clinical and research experience include multi-cultural assessment, individual and group therapy, value systems, interpersonal relationships, and social perception.
Dr. Briana Cassetta
Briana D. Cassetta, PhD, RPsych #02498. Dr. Cassetta obtained a BSc in psychology from the University of British Columbia, and an MSc and PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Calgary. She completed her CPA-accredited clinical internship through Vancouver Coastal Health. Dr. Cassetta has experience in neuropsychological assessment, psychological assessment, individual and group psychotherapy, consultation, and neurorehabilitation across a wide range of clinical settings. She specializes in assessment of adults and older adults with acquired brain injury, neurodegenerative conditions, and/or severe mental illness. She also has a strong research background in brain-related illness and injury, having published a number of peer-reviewed articles.
Dr. Joseph Klancnik
Joseph M. Klancnik, PhD, RPsych #01286. Dr. Klancnik obtained a BA in psychology and a PhD in neuroscience at the University of British Columbia. After postdoctoral fellowships at the Brain Research Institute of the University of Zurich and the Center for Molecular and Behavioral Neuroscience at Rutgers University, Dr. Klancnik completed an APA-accredited postdoctoral clinical specialization at the University of Arizona, and an APA/CPA-accredited clinical internship at the Toronto Hospital. Dr. Klancnik spent many years teaching, presenting at local and international conferences, and publishing in the field. In the early 1990’s, he began to work directly with clients. In 1999, Dr. Klancnik founded West Coast Psychological Services. He has been intensively involved with vocational rehabilitation for persons with disabilities, and has conducted and supervised thousands of neuropsychological, psychovocational, and psychoeducational assessments. Dr. Klancnik has been accepted as an expert witness in the Supreme Court of British Columbia.
Dr. Kimberly McGuire
Kimberly G. McGuire, PhD, RPsych #01349. Dr. McGuire completed her training in clinical psychology (neuropsychology specialty) at the University of Victoria. Her master’s level training focused on child development and psychobiology. She has conducted more than 2000 comprehensive neuropsychological, clinical, vocational, and psycho-educational assessments for federal and provincial government ministries, law firms, rehabilitation and long-term disability insurance providers, and private clients. She was a consultant to WorkSafeBC and the Workers’ Compensation Board of Saskatchewan. She has been accepted as an expert witness in both BC and Alberta. She works with children, teens, and adults of all ages.
Dr. Melady Preece
Dr. Melady Preece, RPsych # 01524 earned her BA in Psychology at the University of California, Los Angeles, and her MA and PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of British Columbia. She completed an APA/CPA approved internship through the Worker’s Compensation Board Rehabilitation program, with rotations in pain management, medical-legal assessments, and occupational rehabilitation. She completed a two-year post-doc with the Mood Disorders program at UBC Hospital, and has sought out additional training in assessment of learning disorders and adult autism. She has worked as a psychologist in both hospital and rehabilitation settings while also maintaining a small private practice. She is a member in good standing with the College of Psychologists of B.C.
Dr. Lana Susskind-Wilder
Dr. Lana Susskind-Wilder completed her doctoral program through the Arizona School of Professional Psychology.
As a clinical neuropsychologist, she has experience conducting neuropsychological assessments in both private practise and as a member of the medical staff of a rehabilitation hospital, for which she has also served as Director of Neuropsychology.
Dr. Susskind-Wilder is experienced in providing consultation, psychotherapy, cognitive remediation, and education for individuals and family members of individuals with acquired brain injury and other chronic health conditions. Likewise, she is experienced developing treatment plans for injured workers on compensation claims and conducting assessments for medical-legal cases.
Dr. Mary Westcott
Dr. Mary Westcott, Ph.D., is a registered psychologist who provides assessment services to adults living with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, learning disability, autism spectrum disorder, acquired brain injury, physical disability, complex medical conditions, and a range of mental health challenges. She is expert in learning and psychoeducational evaluations which analyze people’s ability to pursue post-secondary education, and identify any accommodations which may be necessary to maximize their potential for success. Dr. Westcott combines history, assessment data, and observation within the context of each client’s unique life experiences, abilities, and goals to formulate meaningful recommendations.
